Dr. Turlington is a Board Certified Obstetrician/ Gynecologist. He grew up in Goldsboro, North Carolina and graduated from Davidson College. He received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina and completed his OB/GYN residency at New Hanover Reginal Medical Center. He has beenin private practice in North Carolina since 1995. Dr. Turlington enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He and his family currently live in Clayton.
Family:
I have been married to my wife, Angel, since 1999 and we have 3 sons. My mother is alive and well and lives in Goldsboro, NC and I also have a brother that lives in Cary, NC. We have 2 dogs, Sandy and Roxy, both of which think they are kids, not dogs. They both are waiting for me when I get home and dark historically when they see me put my tennis shoes on because they know I am the primary “dog walker” of the household.
Hobbies:
I enjoy reading and spending time with my family. Boating is my favorite activity. I hope to learn more about salt water fishing next year, as my youngest son LOVES to fish. I also enjoy traveling, diving, exercise and playing ball in the back yard with the boys. Basketball is my season as I am a UNC fan all the way!
Interesting Fact:
I supported my wife’s decision in 2002 to have our last son in a birth center in Chapel HIll with a Certified Nurse Midwife. Now that was a challenge for me, but we did it and I can say it was an amazing experience for each of us to have a baby and be home in our bed 6 hours later. I wish all births could be that easy.
Family Weekend Activity:
Well, when I’m not on call for the practice I enjoy watching football and catching up with my family. I’d like to rest, but somehow my wife never seems to allow that. When it’s warm outside, I run for the coast to my boat!
